I was in my mid 40's when I had my second lesson (think my first one was at at 5) on tying shoelaces!
It came about when I was living in Canada and had a pair of shoes with round laces that constantly came undone. My Canadian friend Carol had the answer. A fail safe, full proof, guaranteed knot that would stay done up. I have used it ever since and Carol was right...it stays tied!
The Knot
Carol called it the "Rita run a-lot". Rita was a keen runner and taught Carol the knot and the name stuck.
I will take you through the steps on how to tie it:

Welcome to the "Rita run a-lot"
It might fell a bit awkward (fingers and thumbs all over the place) for the first little while, but that is normal. Practice makes perfect.
